Block Party!

Summer is over and the holidays are just around the corner. Before you’re too bogged down with homework, sports, shopping, cooking, etc. (as if you’re not already), why not consider getting together with your neighbors (whom you don’t see nearly enough) for an afternoon of old fashion games and enjoyment.

WHAT: Wyncrest Neighborhood Block Party
WHEN: Sunday, September 30th from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
WHERE: Field between 23 and 25 Redfield Park
WITH:
Pizza from Mama’s, soda & juice (and any snacks/dishes people would be willing to bring to share.)
WHY: Because it’s long overdue
RSVP: By Wednesday, September 26

Join in the fun and games
Like:

  • Balloon Toss
  • Egg on Spoon Race
  • Sack Race
  • 3-Legged Race
  • Wheelbarrow Race
  • TUG of WAR (only if good rope is found)

and a little friendly competition
Such as:

  • Neighbors vs. Neighbors
  • Siblings vs. Siblings
  • Moms vs. Dads
  • Kids vs. Adults
  • Kids vs. Kids
  • Boys vs. Girls

All ages are encouraged to participate in the friendly competition. The more people that get involved will mean more fun, more laughs and more neighborly competition. Sorry no prizes for the winner – just bragging rights. Of course the more people who participate will mean bigger the bragging rights.

There will also be Pumpkin Painting/Decorating for children age 12 and under.

REMEMBER:

The block party is funded by the Wyncrest Activities Committee. If you have not contributed to the Activities Fund, please consider a donation to help defray the cost of pizza and supplies. Pls. contact Michele Clancy at mmclancy@yahoo.com if you are interested in becoming a member, the dues are $20.00 a year.

Please feel free to contact Karen at 371-9617 or jquinn22@nycap.rr.com with any questions. Also, please contact Karen if you have a rope that can be used for TUG-of-WAR.
